No lone wolf, the Grey Wolf needs a pack to survive. Its close-knit social dynamics allow for easy hunting, communication, and defending of their turf. Packs usually consist of 10 individuals, comprised of one main mate and their many cubs. Territories cover hundreds of square miles, explained largely by the food sources in the area. To protect their land, Gray Wolves mark their boundaries with pungent scents to keep away rivals.
